Advanced tools for Behavioural Change in energy consumption for Higher Education Stakeholders

Project Presentations at International Sustainability and Higher Education Events Across Europe

Over the past weeks, ABCinEnergy partners have actively promoted the project at several international events, engaging with students, researchers, higher education professionals, policymakers, and sustainability stakeholders across Europe.

On 11 June, our partner World University Service (WUS) Austria participated in the Sustainability Day at the University of Applied Sciences FH JOANNEUM in Graz, Austria. The event provided an excellent opportunity to present ABCinEnergy to students, academic staff, and other interested participants. Throughout the day, valuable discussions focused on energy awareness, behaviour change, and the important role higher education institutions play in creating a more sustainable future. The event also featured inspiring lectures and a panel discussion, highlighting the importance of collaboration and knowledge exchange in advancing sustainability.

Earlier, on 9 June, ABCinEnergy was showcased by our partner University for SDGs during the event “Smart Cities: Between Design, Sustainability and Innovation”, attended by institutions and more than 100 participants. The presentation highlighted how universities can serve as living laboratories for sustainability by fostering behavioural change in energy consumption. The discussion emphasised the strong connection between sustainable campuses and the broader vision of smart, resilient cities.

In addition, on 14 May, our partner VILNIUS TECH – Vilnius Gediminas Technical University presented ABCinEnergy at the 16th International Scientific Conference “Business and Management 2026”. The presentation focused on the project’s progress, particularly the activities and results of Work Package 2, including the development of the ABCinEnergy Sustainability Roadmap. Participants showed great interest during the Q&A session, discussing project workflows, current activities, and the ongoing second piloting phase.

These events demonstrate the growing interest in sustainable energy behaviour within higher education and reinforce the importance of collaboration between universities, researchers, students, and other stakeholders. By sharing knowledge, exchanging experiences, and promoting innovative tools such as the ABCinEnergy Habit Tracker Platform, the project continues to contribute to more sustainable and energy-conscious higher education communities across Europe.

We would like to thank all organisers, participants, and partners for their continued support and engagement with ABCinEnergy.
